About The Site

That’s the title of the latest story I am drafting. It is also how story ideas come to me. I will just be sitting there and usually one image flashes into my head. Instantly I will get another bunch of thoughts around that image; ideas, characters, plot turns, dialogue, whatever. I then have to sit down and make notes on it all. Pages of paper get out everything. In this case, I then remade all my notes and saw what new angles came up to the surface, I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn’t say my notes are complete, they are relatively comprehensive, but then I seemed to stall. I realised I needed to just start writing this bastard. I only see it as a 4 issue mini anyway, it’s not like I will get up to issue 15 and then realise something was missing in act one. Any changes can easily be made to a mini.

So, here I sit, as the weather starts to get cold, and instead of writing in shorts and just cloaked in creativity, I have a jersey and hideously striped pj pants on over my way too old Grosby slippers. Here I sit with a mint green tea next to me making my room smell like I imagine the Sanctum Sanctorum might. Here I sit smashing out pages of the first issue’s script, and finding that I really like the depth on all the characters I am creating. Here I sit getting really involved in this world.

It is nice to have this going, especially after finding out today that Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker and David Aja are leaving Danny Rand’s Immortal title. There is always good in the world, so long as the Gemini side of me that can see it comes to the fore. Here I sit finding so much goodness.
