Not Raining, Pouring
I love how things add up, just makes me feel like I can do anything to the characters in my stories and it can all still be realistic.
In this past week:
- My lights have gone off in the house, bad wiring, perhaps a C.H.U.D. in the crawlspace snacking out, who knows…
- Hot water shut down, in a bold and useless attempt to fix aforementioned bad light wiring
- Mobile phone completely shit itself (luckily I kept my old phone, for what purpose I don’t know, but swapped the sim card across until I can get it fixed)
- Got a flat tyre on a five hour drive, just before sundown, had to race the clock to get it changed and avoid the suction of the trucks scooting by, wicked black hands after that
- Awesomely global head cold, been on so many drugs this past weekend I feel like some homeless trash every time I throw a few pills down, it’s habit, and I’ve become the king of the classy-eyed stare…though, being partnered with a nurse does help, she just flips the head back and throws a handful of different coloured pills in like they’re Tic Tacs, problem solved, or at least shelved for another four hours…
- Got my finger caught in a cupboard door, not sure my nail wants to stay with me anymore
All this in one wicked week.
If anyone ever tells me I put my characters through too much I’ll just send them a link to this post.
