Parker
I just had a look at Duane Swierczynski’s post about the upcoming Darwyn Cooke adaptation of Richard Stark’s The Hunter, starring his greatest character, Parker. I went to the link and read the 19 page download. The first page looks like this;

It’s a killer page with great art lines, wicked composition and just overall a sense of bad ass that I absolutely love. The pages read well, without dialogue, and you get a great sense of what’s happening, but not who Parker really is, and then you finally see him.

It’s a fantastic reveal. I cannot wait for this hardcover to come out, will be totally worth the money.

I am halfway through Day Keene’s The Brimstone Bed and it is pretty damn awesome. After reading such a heady tome, see Moby-Dick, this book is so short with its word choices and scenery dressing. There is an immediacy of the story that lets nothing else get in its way. It is interesting to read something so different. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

It is currently the early morning and I have my heater on so my fingers can work properly. I am making note changes to Noir, a bit of a boring, secretarial piece of work, but I know the work is much better for having made the updates. I just hope it doesn’t take me too long.
