Getting Amongst It
It’s been a busy morning.
Trying to get some words out on the novel, not actually sure what I got, pretty sure it was under a thousand, but I do know what I want from the scene and sometimes what you need is a good bit of writing that you want to do just sitting there and waiting for you to come back. It’s better than knowing you have to sit down and figure something out, that’ll make you avoid if you can. So I’m happy with the novel, it’s just under 74k as it stands.
I got an email from the producer of the script that I sold with my brother. He has the final draft and it looks good to go. We just have to come up with a blurb, a 30 word synopsis, a 50 word synopsis, and a synopsis in under a page. Easy, so I worked on a few of those, emailed to my brother, see what he thinks.
I have also been reading some of my old comic scripts to see how they are going. I read all six of my Hail HYDRA! ones and I love them, man, absolutely love them, but am thinking they might be better served if I expand them into my own universe, I can add so much more if I tweak it to be creator-owned, so am looking to do that. I also read the first script for a series I was putting together with my oldest brother. It’s called Lookin For A Soul To Steal and it would be a four issue mini. It’s based on the classic Charlie Daniel’s Band song, The Devil Went Down To Georgia. The first issue adapts the song, in a way, and then leaves it open for much more story, which would include the devil sending some demon bounty hunters after Johnny’s soul because he’s such a cocky bastard. I have uploaded the first issue script to my deviantArt, because I figured a 22 page script might be too long for one post, though I might add some to the sidebar in the near future.
Now I am off to work and I have an interview with the department of education at twenty past two. Here’s hoping my mind isn’t elsewhere.
